The Biggest Health Myth Ever Handicaps Staying Healthy

Exercising
Have you ever thought you would stay healthy by running long distance and getting in really great shape?
The myth is that your body will warn you in advance of a serious problem developing. You would think being able to get in great shape by running alone would seem to be the ultimate way to stay healthy. So what could be the problem?
Do you remember Jim Fix, the great long distance runner who advocated long distance running as the best way to get in great shape and be really healthy. Then he dropped dead of a heart attack while he was running!
How healthy was he? Certainly he was in great shape. He seemed to know how to stay healthy. He had no symptoms of any ill health. He felt great. He had plenty of energy, etc.
Why did he suddenly die without any warning? Wouldn’t we all appreciate it if our bodies would at least give us some warning that everything was not perfect? To just go from feeling terrific to being dead in less than a minute just does not seem possible.
Sometimes we do get a warning. When a disease has advanced so far that we notice it, such as a rash suddenly appearing on our skin, the damage inside has already been going on secretly for a long time. I say secretly, because our bodies are designed to silently struggle – to stay healthy, all the while pretending everything is fine.
Our bodies pretends as long as it can until it is so overwhelmed that it can no longer function in a particular area to stay healthy. When that function collapses, then the illness is so advanced that it shows up as an unpleasant symptom. Now it will take a much greater lifestyle change than if you had become aware of this pending illness sooner.
How do you stay healthy if your body is not warning you about the magnitude of its struggle to stay healthy?
The answer is each of us has to educate ourselves on the six health pillars required to stay healthy. We need to learn what they are through research and then practice them correctly, consistently every day, even though we may feel perfect with no symptoms.
